In today's fast paced society, families have a tendency to depend on what is convenient for nourishment. What they fail to realize; however, is the detrimental affects these convenience foods have on our bodies. The intention of this blog was to educate readers on eating healthy, economically, and living a healthy lifestyle. It was also designed to provide basic, research based information that could be interpreted by all and utilized in a manner to change eating habits.
Though nutrition practices can be controversial, depending on one's belief, values, and culture, utilizing the basic principles of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the MyPlate concept will enable families to make a change in the diets. Julie your blog on healthy eating was very educational for me. I was able to visualize what I was really putting into my body thru your lesson plan activities. As a result, I could no longer deny that what most of what I have been eating lately was not nutritionally sound and could cause major health issues for me in the future. It will take time and effort on my part but there is no excuse for me not to be eating more healthy and your blog really reinforced that for me. Thank you.

Julie, thanks for your topic and the information you provided. I have learned more about information (GMOs) that have been discussed in the media and the healthcare profession. Furthermore, I truly enjoyed your demonstration on what fats really look like when we consume them in fast foods. Although I believe that I eat pretty healthy, I know that I need and will do better based upon your blog.
